Negative balances may occur when there is not enough money in the Card when tipping.
For some charges, where a tip may be added (like restaurants), Family Money retains an additional 15 - 20% for 1–2 days.
If the tip is greater than 20%, the amount will be corrected later at the time of transaction settlement. This may lead to a negative balance.In order to correct the negative balance, parents may transfer money from another family account or from the linked bank account; kids may transfer money from their Vault to cover negative balance.
It is a good practice to always have the extra money on the Card when tipping to avoid negative balances.
